❄️Ice Skating for kids at Gelderlandplein in Amsterdam Zuid❄️

The ice rinks at Gelderlandplein create a winter oasis where families, friends, and solo skaters come together for moments of joy and festivity.

The indoor space and its size is perfect for small kids to start their first ice-skating experience. Whether you're perfecting your twirls, sipping hot cocoa by the rink, or simply soaking in the festive atmosphere, Gelderlandplein's ice-skating extravaganza promises a slice of winter joy in the heart of the city, with plenty of shops to check off your items from your weekend shopping list.

Ice*Amsterdam @Amsterdam

Nestled in the heart of Amsterdam, Ice*Amsterdam on Museumplein had offered a beloved winter tradition to thousands over the past ten yeas. The ice rink, surrounded by iconic landmarks, provided a stunning backdrop for skating adventures and evolved into a cultural hub where locals and visitors gather to celebrate the season. Sadly, Ice*Amsterdam will not open this year due to permit issues.

❄️Haarlem's Ijsbaan Haarlem❄️

Venture beyond Amsterdam to the charming city of Haarlem, where Ijs Rink Haarlem transforms the covered space with a gallery roof into an inviting ice-skating destination.

9

What we love most about it is the ice floor covered by a gallery roof, allowing daylight and fresh air to grace the premises. You feel so connected to the natural outside temperature without the biting Dutch wind. A covered ice rink also ensures uninterrupted skating in any weather conditions!

6

The Ice Rink Haarlem has one of the best ice floors in the Netherlands. The 400-meter oval is a great place for long distance speed skating.

7

The rectangular floor (30×60 meter) is a wonderful place for anyone to take the first steps on the ice or for kids to have fun.

❄️Winter Village❄️

The Winter Village concept is relatively recent, introducing a clever ONA concept that provides an opportunity for an informal skating experience. During Winter Village, visitors can partake in day and evening activities and events, including school skating, disco skating, skating lessons, and party evenings with fantastic catering options.

As the wine and dine suppliers were present for a limited period of time, Winter Village at Laren and Amstelveen only opened till 7 Jan 2024 this year.

❄️Skating on Frozen Dutch Canals❄️

Amsterdam and Haarlem offer more than just traditional ice rinks. Imagine gliding through an open-air rink surrounded by art installations or enjoying a skating session on a frozen canal with a guide narrating tales of local lore. These surprise elements elevate the experience beyond the ordinary, creating memories that linger long after the ice has melted.

As winter beckons, lace up your skates and embark on a journey through Amsterdam and Haarlem's ice skating hotspots. Each rink, with its unique charm, contributes to the enchanting tapestry of winter in the Netherlands.
